Not The Same Ol’ Voiceover
Thursday, August 9th, 2007Voice talent must be able to accept and cope with constructive criticism, as well as negative criticism. If the talent’s voice instructor asks for a different reading of a script and the talent reads it as the exact same voice over as before, annoyance builds, before the artist is even be close to audition time. Casting directors have no time as it is, and nor do they want to take the time to coach a talent through a reading.
Listening and providing reaction to the feedback that a talent receives is almost as important as being able to produce voices, characters, and read scripts well. It is also imperative to keep a positive mental attitude when dealing with rejection, criticism, and difficult times.
